Introduction
Every year, 15th August reminds us of the heroic saga when, after countless sacrifices, independent India was born in 1947. This day is not just a date in history but an eternal anthem echoing in every Indian’s heart.
The History of Independence: A Chapter Written in Blood
- The Brutality of British Rule:
- For 200 years, India suffered exploitation, poverty, and division under British rule.
- The “Divide and Rule” policy shattered our social unity.
- The Multifaceted Freedom Struggle:
- Non-Violent Movements: Gandhi’s Dandi March, Quit India Movement.
- *Revolutionary Path: Sacrifices of *Bhagat Singh, Batukeshwar Dutt, Chandrashekhar Azad.
- *Netaji’s INA: *”Give me blood, and I will give you freedom!”
- 15th August 1947:
- At midnight, India’s first PM Jawaharlal Nehru delivered his historic speech – “Tryst with Destiny”.
- Amidst the pain of Partition, a dream nation was born.
